Bentley promises ‘effortless overtaking’ from its first electric car

Hallmark did not expose what overall body model the new EV would be, stating only that it would be incremental to the existing Bentley assortment of Continental GT coupe and convertible, Traveling Spur sedan and Bentayga SUV.

When those are replaced, they will swap to total-electric powered power as very well, Bentley has claimed

Just one variant of the new EV will charge far more than 250,000 euros, a selling price point that Bentley exited when it stopped advertising the Mulsanne limousine in 2020.

“In conditions of rate position, a person of the EVs will be more in that Mulsanne cost variety than anything that we have now. It has to be,” Hallmark reported. He pressured it was not a limousine.

The higher selling price point for the EV compared to Bentley’s combustion engine vary is not because of to the price tag of batteries.

“The 12-cylinder motor is about 10 instances the selling price of the common premium automobile engine, and the regular battery is considerably less than our 12-cylinder motor,” Hallmark said. “I cannot wait around for batteries, they are inexpensive in relative terms.”

The new EV will be developed on the PPE (quality functionality electrical) platform formulated by Audi, Bentley’s controlling division inside the VW Group.

The system “offers us the battery engineering alone, the generate units, the autonomous capability, the related vehicle capacity, the system systems and some innovations in these,” Hallmark stated.

He said Bentley attributes have been “baked in at the starting,” alternatively thanthe brand name having to adapt a VW Team system as it did with the Porsche Panamera system for the Continental GT and Flying Spur.

The design will be current from Bentley’s latest search but will not abide by an EV craze.

“What we will not do is try and make them glance like electrical cars,” Hallmark claimed.
